![]() ![]() Triple-A Sluggers, former Major Leaguers (Mud Hens hitting coach, and former Chicago Cubs All-Star, Leon "Bull" Durham & Norfolk Tides hitting coach, and former New York Mets and Detroit Tigers All-Star, Howard Johnson), and two local High School participants will compete in the ever-popular Home Run Derby. Home Run Derby Rain Date = Wednesday, July 12th at 12 PM.
How many home runs will be hit onto Monroe and St. Clair Streets in Downtown Toledo? All fans will adopt a player for prizes too! There will be an award ceremony on the field immediately following the event where the winner of the Derby will receive a one-of-a-kind trophy created by a Toledo area glass blower. High School participants will be selected over a four month April through July contest period at Mud Hens home games.

Triple-A All-Star High School Home Run Derby CompetitionFifth Third Field, 7:00pm Two promising high school baseball players outlasted other selected participants in the High School Home Run Derby qualifying rounds and now will have the opportunity to compete alongside future and former Major League baseball players in the ever-popular Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby. High school players will use aluminum bats to keep the pressure on the professional participants! Zooperstars Derby AppearanceFifth Third Field, During Derby The wackiest of the inflatable mascot troupes will be dropping in during the derby to hit a Home Run of Hysterical proportions! With their unpredictable antics the Zooperstars will hit it out of the park with laughs. Keep an eye out for All-Star Zooperstars: Ken Giraffey Jr. , Shark McGwire, Clammy Sosa, Harry Canary, and Cow Ripken Jr. BCSN TV CoverageFifth Third Field, During Derby Catch all of the derby dingers on the television home of the Mud Hens, Buckeye CableSystem's BCSN-TV. The Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby will be televised "live" with the announcing team of Jim Weber, Frank Gilhooley and Jason Griffin providing play-by-play action with interviews with the participants.
