High School Baseball Program Opportunities |

Toledo Mud Hens baseball is not just for Little Leaguers to enjoy. We have some big league opportunities for area
High School baseball programs to get involved in as well.
Play a Game at Fifth Third Field
Is your baseball team or program looking to raise money to purchase new equipment, uniforms, improvements to
your baseball field, or a future spring baseball trip? Would you like to give your team an opportunity to play a
game at a first class minor league facility? The Toledo Mud Hens can help you do all of that.
During the 2005 season we introduced the opportunity for area High School teams to play a game at beautiful
Fifth Third Field. We have had many schools take advantage of this very unique and special opportunity. The
event has been a huge success and everyone involved felt it was a tremendous experience to be able to play a
regular season high school baseball game at Fifth Third Field in front of their own fans. We are looking to
build upon that success by getting more high school baseball teams involved for 2008. Consider this your
invitation for your high school baseball team to participate.
Third Annual High School Home Run Derby - FREE
2006 provided a opportunity of a lifetime for 37 area high school baseball players. The Toledo Mud Hens held
a high school home run derby in conjunction with the Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby with the top two
qualifiers actually participating with the minor league sluggers. We followed that event up with 38
participants during the 2007 season culminating in a finale to determine the champion. Those 75 sluggers,
coaches, family, and friends will tell you that it was something they will not soon forget. We want to build
upon the popularity of this event by continuing to host the high school home run derby competition.
High School baseball programs will have the opportunity for one member of their team to participate in the
second annual high school home run derby. High school players will slug it out after selected Mud Hens home
games with the top 3 slugging it out for the championship in a mid-summer showdown in July.
