Fifth Third Field Policies & Guidelines
Alcohol
No alcohol or illegal drugs may be brought into Fifth Third Field. Anyone breaking the law of underage drinking or using
illegal drugs will be subject to immediate ejection and criminal prosecution. The sale of alcohol can be discontinued at
any time at the discretion of the Toledo Mud Hens, Lucas County, or V. Gladieux Enterprises.
Anthem Singers
Anyone interested in performing the National Anthem should submit an audio or video tape of an acappella performance of the
anthem in care of the Toledo Mud Hens, 406 Washington Street, 5th Floor, Toledo, Ohio 43604. Selected singers will be asked
to audition in person. Tapes will not be returned.
Automated Teller Machines (ATM)
For your convenience, two (2) Fifth Third Bank ATM Machines are located inside the ballpark near the main entrance
(behind home plate) and down the first base line.
Autographs
Asking players for autographs is a tradition at Mud Hens games and is highly encouraged. For the safety of fans and players
alike, International League policy prohibits players from signing autographs during the game. Muddy the Mud Hen and
Muddonna will also sign autographs, but are prohibited from signing in the seating area during play for the safety of all
fans. Before every Sunday home game, two designated Mud Hens players sign autographs inside Fifth Third Field at a
designated location.
Basebell Camps
The Mud Hens offer the Pepsi Baseball Camps on different dates throughout the season. Limited spaces are available for all
clinics and camps. For more information on baseball camps click the link or call

Beverages, Food, & Containers
No beverages, food, or containers may be brought into Fifth Third Field.
Birthday Parties by Toft’s Ice Cream
Celebrate your birthday at Fifth Third Field with Toft’s Ice Cream Birthday Parties. Parties require a minimum of ten (10)
people and each person in attendance receives a hot dog, small soft drink and chips. Each party includes Toft’s Ice Cream for everyone!
The birthday child will receive a youth Mud Hens t-shirt, have a birthday message scrolled on the video board and receive a visit from
Muddy the Mud Hen or Muddonna! Call the Mud Hens at 419-725-HENS for more information.
Bricks
Have your name go down in history at Fifth Third Field or at least in the sidewalk!
Commerorative bricks are on sale and will be
placed in or around Fifth Third Field. All proceeds go towards the Helping Hens Charitable Fund. Contact the
Mud Hens front office for more information or pick up a brochure today at Guest Services.
Bullpens
The bullpens at Fifth Third Field are located right past each dugout.
Cameras/Video Cameras
Handheld cameras and video camcorders are permitted inside Fifth Third Field, so long as they do not interfere with the
game or other fans’ enjoyment of the game.
Cell Phones
For the courtesy and enjoyment of those seated around you, please limit any incoming and outgoing cell phone calls to three
minutes within the seating bowl. If your call is going to exceed this time, please revert to the main concourse area to
continue your conversation.
Ceremonial First Pitch
Throwing out a Ceremonial First Pitch at a Mud Hens game is a special honor, and is typically reserved for those who are representing a group outing of 100 people or more at a game.
Individuals who would like a first pitch opportunity may make a $150 donation to our Helping Hens Charitable Foundation.

Championships
Toledo was the league champion of the Inter-State League in 1896 & 1897, winners of the Junior World Series in 1927 under
Hall-of-Fame manager Casey Stengel and also has won the American Association League Championship in 1953 and the International
League Championship in 1967 & 1968. In 2002, the Mud Hens were the International League West Division Champions. In 2005 &
2006, the Toledo Mud Hens were Governors' Cup Champions of the International League!
Club Seats
Designed to capture the spirit and excellent views afforded by the cantilevered balcony at historic Tiger Stadium, club or
balcony seats at Fifth Third Field have been very popular. All 1,200 seats have sold out! Club seats offer a private
entrance, concourse, lounge and terrace similar to Major League Ballparks.
Concessions/Food
Fifth Third Field will be sure to tempt your taste buds with a variety of food items in the main concourse and Suite Level.
There are a variety of food items at Fifth Third Field including Toft’s Ice Cream, freshly baked Marco’s Pizza, philly
cheese steaks, burritos, Italian sausages, grilled ribeye steak sandwiches, black angus products and over a dozen different hot dogs.

Container Policy
Cans, coolers, glass bottles and all other beverage containers are not permitted to be carried inside Fifth Third Field.
Contests (On-Field)
Sign up at Guest Services (on the main concourse, behind home plate) at the beginning of the game for a chance to participate
in a between-inning contest! Contests vary per game night.
Corporal Maxwell Klinger
Native Toledoan Jamie Farr portrayed this lovable character on the hit television show M*A*S*H. During the run of the show,
former Mud Hens General Manager Gene Cook sent a care package of Mud Hens items to Max Klinger and the rest is history.
As Klinger and other characters began to wear Mud Hens hats, jerseys, etc. souvenir sales started to skyrocket. Mr. Farr
hosts his annual LPGA golf tournament in Sylvania, Ohio and has been seen at many Mud Hens game over the years.
Drinking Fountains
Drinking Fountains are located throughout the ballpark near the restrooms.
Elevators
An elevator to the Suite/Club Level is located behind home plate for those who need special assistance.
Exchanges (Tickets)
Fans may exchange tickets up to 48 hours before the date of the game for tickets to any other regular season game, based on availability. No refunds are available. To exchange tickets please bring them to the Box Office or mail them to Toledo Mud Hens, ATTN: Box Office, 406 Washington St., Toledo, OH 43604. When mailing in your tickets please include your contact information and any special requests.
Family Restrooms
For our fans’ convenience, there are two family restrooms located behind home plate in the main concourse.
Fan Mail
All fan mail for players should be addressed to the individual and sent to the Mud Hens street address. The Toledo Mud Hens
cannot assume responsibility for lost, misdirected, or unanswered requests.
Field Level Seats
The lower level seating bowl offers fans a great view of the action at Fifth Third Field. The first row of seats
behind home plate are closer to the batter than the pitcher is! Seats along the first and third base lines are only about
40 feet from the bags and those sitting in the corner sections of the seating bowl are only about 12 feet from the foul
line. The seats in the corners of Fifth Third Field (Sections 101 and 119) turn back in to face the field, similar to Progressive Field in
Cleveland.
Fireworks
Fireworks typically take place on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night game from May through the end of the season (some exceptions apply).

First Aid Station Sponsored by ProMedica
The ProMedica First Aid Station is located behind home plate in the main concourse. Professional health care staff from
ProMedica Health System will be on hand for each home game to treat any minor injury that may occur during your visit to
Fifth Third Field.
Foul Balls & Other Flying Objects
Fans are reminded to be alert at all times for foul balls, baseball bats and other flying objects that may leave the
playing field. Fans are encouraged to keep any foul balls that land in the seating area, but are prohibited from going onto the
field to retrieve any baseballs.
Gates Open
Gates typically open 1 hour prior to the start of the game. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday games gates occasionally open
90 minutes before the start of the game. Please call 419-725-HENS for more information.
Gift Cards
Gift Cards are available for Tickets or Merchandise and may be purchased in the Swamp Shop, Hen Hut and at the Mud Hens Ticket Offices.
Giveaways
Fans attending certain games may be presented with a promotional item as they enter or exit the ballpark! Please be aware that

Group Outings
Have your next group outing or function at Fifth Third Field! There are numerous picnic areas to choose from including:
the Home Run Picnic Terrace, The Coop, The Nest, The Perch, The Coop-A-Cabana and The Roost. Special rates for group

Guest Interference
Guests are not to interfere with the game ball in play. Any guest going onto the playing field with out permission will be
subject to immediate ejection and criminal prosecution.
Guest Services
Guest Services is located behind home plate. If you have questions or need directions, assistance or
anything else the staff at Guest Services will be happy to help. And don’t forget to sign up for game-day
contests at the Guest Services kiosk!

Sixteen former Mud Hens are in the Baseball Hall-of-Fame in Cooperstown, New York. The members include: Casey Stengel,
Roger Bresnahan, Addie Joss, Bill Terry, Joe McCarthy, Freddie Lindstrom, Elmer Flick, Kirby Puckett, Hack Wilson, Dazzy Vance, Jocko
Conlan, Turkey Stearnes, Oscar Charleston, Billy Evans, Jim Bunning and Billy Southworth. Please click for more details

Kids Play Area Sponsored by the Toledo Children’s Hospital
The Toledo Children’s Hospital Kids Play Area, “Muddy’s Marsh,” is located in center field, directly behind the batters eye.
The Toledo Children’s Hospital Kids Play Area is intended for kids ages 3-9 years old and is unsupervised. Playground
equipment has been donated by the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Toledo. Toledo Children’s Hospital is a member of ProMedica
Health System.
Laser Pointers
Laser Pointers or any other similar item are prohibited at Fifth Third Field.
Lost & Found
Lost and Found is located at Guest Services behind home plate. Items not claimed within 30 days will be donated to
charity.
Marriage Proposals
The most popular way to propose at a game is at the conclusion of 'The Kiss Cam' promotion, a between-inning promotion
that features random couples kissing on the video board. Arrange to be the final featured couple and get down on one
knee on our giant video board! This proposal includes a public address announcement as the whole ballpark witnesses your magical moment.
If you plan on popping the question at a Mud Hens game please let our promotions staff know of your intentions 3-7 days
in advance of the game you'll be attending.

Moses Fleetwood Walker
Toledo signed the first African American ballplayer, Moses Fleetwood "Fleet" Walker, to a baseball contract in 1884, over 60

Mud Hen
The Mud Hen is a marsh bird with short wings and long legs. The team received the nickname in the late 1800’s when they
played at Bay View Park. The marsh birds once inhabited the area near the playing field. The nickname “Mud Hen” actually

Mud Hen Money
Mud Hen Money, which may be used at all concession stands, is available in $1 and $5 increments. Mud Hen Money may be purchased

McDonald’s Muddy’s Buddies Kids Club
Kids 12 and under may join the Muddy’s Buddies Kids Club at any area McDonald’s location or right here at Fifth Third
Field. McDonald’s Kids Club Members will receive $1 off designated Mud Hens games, as well as free Happy Meals at

Ordering Tickets
Fans may order tickets through 725-HENS (4367) or through mudhens.com. Regular ticket office hours at Fifth Third Field are
Monday-Friday, 9 am – 5 pm and Saturday, 11 am – 2 pm. Ticket office hours will be extended on game days. Tickets can be ordered
online at www.mudhens.com.
Paging
Paging of fans inside Fifth Third Field will only be done in emergency situations only. Should you need a fan paged during
a game, please visit the Guest Services behind the home plate area.
Parking
Over 6,600 parking spaces are available within four city blocks of Fifth Third Field. The Downtown Parking Authority owned
lots or garages offer clean, well-lit, secure and staffed parking spaces starting at $2.00 each. For more information on

Playing Field
The natural grass is approximately 14 feet below street level with an asymmetrical home run fence, providing the Mud
Hens with a distinct home field advantage. The home run fence is 320 feet down the left field and right field lines
with the left field power alley being 386 feet. The unique centerfield alcove, reminiscent of the Polo Grounds in New York,
is 406, 400, and 412 feet to dead center. The right field home run fence conforms to the warehouse buildings on St.
Clair Street resulting in distances of 375, 342, 341 and 320 feet.
Public Transportation (TARTA)
TARTA offers Mud Hens fans two simple ways to travel to Fifth Third Field during the season. The “MuddyShuttle” offers fans a
direct round trip ride to Fifth Third Field one (1) hour before game time or “Hop & Ride” and catch a bus at any TARTA stop
and ride to Fifth Third Field. For more information call 419-243-RIDE or visit www.tarta.com.
For your convenience two (2) TARTA bus stations have been built into Fifth Third Field located on Washington Street only 50
feet from the first base gate and on Monroe Street just 50 feet from the third base gate.
Radio
All Mud Hens games, home and away, can be heard on Fox Sports 1230 WCWA-AM and a selected
number of games can also be heard on Fostoria, Ohio's WFOB-1430 AM. Longtime Mud Hens radio play-by-play announcer Jim Weber,
Frank Gilhooley, Jason Griffin and Bill Clark have you covered. Jim and Frank have been together for over 20 years!
Rain Outs/Rain Checks
In the case a complete official game (4 ½ innings) is not played, tickets may be exchanged for another game ticket. All
tickets must be exchanged in person at the Mud Hens Ticket Office. There are no refunds on tickets purchased.
Re-Entry
Re-entry to the ballpark is not permitted. In emergencies only, fans can go to the Security Office to receive a re-entry
pass.
Restrooms
Plenty of restrooms adorn the concourses of the ballpark, including two (2) family restrooms, and all are in compliance with
the Americans with Disabilities Act.
"The Roost"
Located in the right angle of the St. Clair Village buildings, “The Roost” home run porch evokes memories of historic Tiger
Stadium. The first two rows overhang fair territory that will allow balls being caught by an outfielder disappearing into
the hands of a lucky fan! “The Roost” is connected to the third and fourth floor banquet/party facility located in the six

Run The Bases Sponsored by Applebee’s
After every Sunday home all kids 12 & under are invited to run the bases, just like their
favorite Mud Hens players!
Scoreboard Messages
If you would like an announcement to be made on the message center board please stop by the Guest Services kiosk
(located behind home plate on the main concourse) BEFORE the 2nd inning of the game you'd like your message posted.
A minimum $1 donation is required to post a message. Proceeds benefit the Helping Hens Charitable Foundation.
These birthday, anniversary and welcome announcements usually run during the 5th inning.
Security
The Security Station is located behind home plate near the main entrance.
Smoking
In accordance with Ohio state laws, Fifth Third Field is completely smoke-free.
Souvenirs
Mud Hens Souvenirs are popular all across the world! Stop by the Swamp Shop on the first floor of the 406 Washington St. building
(near right field) or the Hen Hut Team Shop (located behind home plate). The Swamp Shop is open year round! You
can shop online by clicking the link.

All home games are televised locally on BCSN (Buckeye Cable Sports Network).
Tickets
Fans may order tickets through 725-HENS (4367) or through mudhens.com. Regular ticket office hours at Fifth Third Field are
Monday-Friday, 9 am – 5 pm and Saturday, 11 am – 3 pm. Ticket office hours will be extended on game days. Tickets may be
purchased over the telephone with Visa and Mastercard. In person, tickets may be purchased with cash, check, Visa or
Mastercard. Fans can also buy tickets online at www.mudhens.com.
Tours
Tours of Fifth Third Field are available throughout the season by making advance reservations. Call the Mud Hens

Tryouts
Interested in suiting up for the Mud Hens? All tryouts for the Mud Hens are handled through the Mud Hens major league
affiliate, the Detroit Tigers. For more information, contact the Detroit Tigers at 313-471-2096.
Umbrellas
Umbrellas are allowed inside Fifth Third Field, but for the viewing enjoyment and safety of other fans in attendance please
refrain from opening umbrellas while in the seating bowl.
Wheelchair Seating
Wheelchair seating is located on both the main concourse and suite levels. If you are in need of assistance,
please visit Guest Services behind home plate.
Will Call
If you order tickets by phone or online, you can have the Mud Hens hold your tickets at Fifth Third Field for
pick-up. Will Call tickets can be picked up at the First Base Ticket Office, near the intersection of Washington
and St. Clair Streets. Fans will need a Photo ID to pick up tickets.
