Originally selected by Detroit in the 8th round of the 2001 draft...signed by Pittsburgh as a free agent on December 12, 2006...signed by Arizona as a free agent on January 31, 2008...signed by Detroit as a free agent on January 14, 2009.

Spent the year with Triple-A Tucson in the Pacific Coast League, hitting .275 (120-436) with 37 extra-base hits in 124 games...had 2 HR & 4 RBI on May 4 at Albuquerque...had 4 RBI on June 14 vs. Colorado Springs...went 5-5 on August 14 at Colorado Springs...had 28 multi-hit games on the year...fanned once every 10.89 plate appearances (2nd best in the PCL)...appeared in games at 1B (1), 2B (63), 3B (23), SS (34), and OF (6).

2001: Spent his first pro season with Oneonta in the New York-Penn League, hitting .286 (75-262) in 67 games...second toughest batter to strike out in the league, fanning once every 18.25 plate appearances...led Oneonta with 41 runs scored and 75 hits.
