Six Former Toledo Mud Hens Linked to the 2009 World Series Teams!

2009 Phillies
Manager Charlie Manuel was the skipper in Toledo during the 1986 season, guiding the Hens to a 62-77 record as the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. In five seasons with the Phillies, Manuel has a record 447-363 including a World Series title in 2008.
Catcher Paul Bako is a veteran of 789 major league games with Detroit, Houston, Florida, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Philadelphia. Bako appeared with Toledo in 1998 for 13 games.
Pitcher Jamie Moyer has had a storied major league career of 23 seasons and has a career record 258-195. The lefty played with the Mud Hens in 1992, going 10-8 with a 2.86 ERA. Moyer will turn 47 years old in November.
Pitcher Chad Durbin was an All-Star with Toledo during the 2006 season and helped the Hens win the Governors’ Cup that season. Durbin has pitched in 130 games for the Phillies over the past two seasons.
Pitcher Tyler Walker pitched in 32 games with Philly this year, going 2-1 with a 3.06 ERA. Walker pitched for Toledo in 2003 and worked in 26 games (22 starts).
2009 Yankees
Outfielder Freddy Guzman appeared in 101 games for the Mud Hens in 2008, establishing a modern-era record with 56 stolen bases. He appeared in two games with New York in the ALCS.
